Latest Update — Last verified: 30 October 2026

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif announced at Mandi Bahauddin on 27 October 2026 that distribution of electric bikes to students will begin on 5 November 2026. News reports of the announcement on 28 October confirm the same date, the 100,000-bike figure for this phase, and that girls will receive pink bikes and boys black bikes. The announcement is about distribution to applicants who have already applied — it does not open a new registration round, because the registration deadline for this phase was 4 October 2026.

The scale of demand explains the balloting. More than 1.3 million students registered and over 607,000 completed applications were recorded, according to an Associated Press of Pakistan report of 12 October 2026. With 100,000 bikes available, only about one in six completed applications can succeed in this phase. Selection is by balloting among applicants whose verification is complete, so an unverified application cannot be drawn even if it was submitted early.

On financing, reports of the scheme state that successful applicants pay no down payment and pay a monthly instalment of around Rs 3,028, with the government covering additional costs. Treat that instalment figure as the reported financing arrangement and confirm the exact amount on your own agreement before signing anything. No district-by-district delivery schedule has been published yet, so selected students should watch for official notifications about ballot results, financing documents, and collection or delivery arrangements rather than trusting any “final list” on social media.

Step-by-Step: What Selected Students Must Do After 5 November

  1. Check your own dashboard on bikes.punjab.gov.pk and your registered mobile for an SMS or email about the ballot result. Do not rely on forwarded lists.
  2. If selected, read the financing documents carefully — instalment amount, duration and any charges — before signing with the Bank of Punjab.
  3. Keep your CNIC, student card, enrolment proof and licence ready for the collection or delivery step exactly as your dashboard instructs.
  4. Complete the agreement only through the official channel named on your dashboard. Never pay a middleman for selection, verification or early delivery.
  5. If you are not selected, keep your application record safe: you can re-apply in the next phase, and a fresh application is free.
  6. If your verification is still shown as pending, contact your institution’s focal person or verification office at once — pending verification means you are not in the ballot pool.

Eligibility — Who Was in This Phase

This phase was for students enrolled in public and private educational institutions in Punjab who applied before 4 October 2026 and completed verification of identity, enrolment, licence and residence. Because applications far exceeded bikes, eligibility alone never guaranteed a bike — balloting decides among verified applicants. Students who missed the October deadline cannot join this distribution; they must wait for the next announced phase.
